Merger Notification and Procedures Templates and Links to Members Websites

Many ICN members have completed Merger Notification and Procedures Templates.  The templates provide background on the jurisdiction’s merger laws, rules, and procedures and serve as a tool to help members and the public learn about merger control in member jurisdictions.  Specifically, the templates provide details about a member’s: merger-related laws, rules, guidelines and forms;  agency responsible for merger enforcement; covered transactions; thresholds; notification requirements and timing; review procedures; documents merging parties must submit; policies regarding translation; review and waiting periods; filing fees; confidentiality; sanctions and penalties; judicial review; closing deadlines; and post-merger review.  Please note that the template is not a substitute for consulting a member’s statutes and regulations. 

Many ICN members have information about their merger review systems on agency websites, and the Merger Working Group provides links to these websites to promote access to member’s merger-related information.  On these linked pages, members have posted materials that may include their current merger legislation, implementing rules and regulations, guidelines, and related materials.  The Merger Working Group also posts templates of members that do not currently have agency websites. The ICN vouches neither for the accuracy nor completeness of the information on any of these linked pages, though it has asked each member to be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date information.
